Maasai Mara is derived from Maasai whoch is the dominant community in tyhe area and Mara which denotes the bushes that dot the plains.
The park is known for the great wildebeest migration and presence of diverse wildlife which are easily found in the park.The maasa mara is divided into three regions aasai Mara National reserve,The mara Triangle and several conservancies such as Mara North Conservancy.
